The Dechsendorfer Weiher recreation area is a popular destination for citizens of Erlangen and the surrounding area, especially in summer.
Sunny lawns invite you to relax; those who enjoy exercise can jog along the circular hiking trail around the lake. Surfers and sailors will also find something to their liking; two sailing clubs and a windsurfing club are located directly on the Dechsendorfer Weiher lake. A stroll in the local recreation area is also worthwhile in autumn and winter. There's a toboggan run nearby in winter.
Food and drinks are available at a kiosk in the south, a kiosk in the east and adjacent restaurants.
